Chronogenics
“Chronogenics” is a series of portraits in triptych. It was shown in a solo exhibition at the Medina Art Gallery in Rome, in May and June 2025.
Concept
Each triptych sets a parent beside a child. On either side, the two portraits, each standing on its own; in the centre, the fusion of the two faces, where one fades into the other. The centre is not the sum of two faces: it is the point where the past meets the future.
The project was born after almost fifteen years of silence with my father, a silence I eventually chose to break, and from the moment when, past forty, I began to come to terms with the idea of becoming a father. It is not only about physical resemblance: it is about the invisible traces we leave in one another, what we inherit and what we choose to become.
The exhibition was presented by Juliet Art Magazine.
